Mohammad Boroujerdi highlighted the 75-year-old diplomatic ties between the two sides and said Iran is going to collaborate with Indonesia on production of Quranic programs.
He was speaking after attending a Quranic gathering at Al-Azhar Mosque in Jakarta.
The program, organized by Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the Iranian Cultural Attaché in Indonesia, and the Mahfel TV Show, featured Quran recitations by renowned Iranian Quranic qaris Hamed Shakernejad and Ahmad Abolqassemi.
The Mahfel show, known for its Quranic recitations and Islamic teachings, enjoys a wide audience globally and is broadcast during the blessed month of Ramadan. “We are ready for joint cooperation in the production of” Quranic programs, joint Quranic movies, Quranic animation films, etc, Boroujerdi stated.
He underlined that Iran and Indonesia are two countries that have made Quranic values the foundation in life.
“The presence of reciters and representatives from the Mahfel TV Show (in Indonesia Quranic programs) reflects our desire to expand cooperation in the field of the Quran with Indonesia.”
Boroujerdi went on to say that the Iranian embassy welcomes producers of Quranic programs and individuals who are interested in collaborating with Iran in this area.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Abolqassemi said Indonesia is a very well-known country in the field of the Quran.
“Moreover, the recitation of the Quran receives a great deal of attention in this country, which makes Indonesia an excellent place for collaboration in this area.”

He added, “The abundance of reciters, scholars, young people passionate about the Quran, numerous Quran memorization programs, and the love and interest of the Indonesian community in the Holy Quran can pave the way for bilateral cooperation. All of these are essential needs for a program like a gathering.”
